Where do we go from here?

I was having a session with a client the other day, and as we spoke on the phone her sadness was so overwhelming. She had gained 30 pounds and had been feeling really bad about herself. I asked her to describe to me how she looked and felt about herself before she gained the weight. She described a beautiful woman with long flowing hair and long skinny legs. She cried so much during this phone call. She said she almost felt as though she had said goodbye to that beautiful woman she described to me earlier, that she once was. I told her she was still a beautiful woman, she needed to see herself as that beautiful woman and the rest of the world would see the same.

Love yourself, treat yourself with respect and the rest will follow. What my client started to understand during this session was like attracts like. If we put negativity out there about ourselves, we will attract negative situations to learn from. Life is a mirror. A big part of this process is making peace with yourself and seeing the beauty you already have.

Learning to love what is can be a process, but what choice do you really have? You can either commit to making a change and release your old way of thinking about yourself or you can continue to be miserable.
